Supply Chain & Technology Benchmarking

Global project for Asian vehicle manufacturer to benchmark European competition to renew, update and improve the complete supply chain and technologies .
01.

Project Highlights

A major Asian OEM wanted to benchmark against their European competition. Wanting to upgrade their supply chain, quality levels, and appeal to European customers. The main goal was be able to compete with European competitors guarantee new market segments in Europe and US. The OEM boomed since then with a new vision that’s still giving out results today. I was involved in the project to research and recognise potential vehicles, technologies and suppliers to benchmark.

A supply chain is made up of thousands of parts and suppliers. Combining expertise and know to completely restructure modules and systems across a new supply chain manufacturing millions of vehicles is always a challenge. The brand was suffering with poor quality compared with main competitors. Mainly due to local suppliers not being able to replicate global standards.

I led a team to create the framework for a premium global supply chain network. The main priorities were to globalise the existing supply chain and improve quality across complete vehicle fleet. The introduction of premium automotive technologies exclusive to this OEM for the complete life cycle of next generation vehicles was also part of the strategy.

The delivered solution ensured OEM gained a global market leading position again against established players. Position that still stands today.
